I, Me and Other
Poetry by Gill Schwartz
THERE IS ONE WHO DREAMS THIS ALL: ME
Before I was,
was Nothing.
As I came into being,
so did the universe.
What I know, is.
What I know not, is not.
Storms rage with My fury.
Whales leap at My joy.
When My Eye opened,
everything appeared
to pleasure My sight.
The rim of My Eye
Is eternity's boundary.
Thus, when My Eye shall close,
all this will end.
With the stopping of My Heart,
the thousand gods will cease.
As this has come for Me alone,
so, with Me, it will all,
every star and seagull,
cease to be.
