LEAVE GIVING
(From Greece)

With softness that persists, calm, deep reaching eyes,
you whispered, "Go and love those you will love
and be known to those you need knowledge of."

How in the depths of parting's sorrows and sighs,
your hands surprised upon the gift of my heart
as it slipped from my breast, with neither pain nor wound.

Now, only now do I know how this binds me to you,
now as our moment parts and becomes two.
